About Hotels.com
There are plenty of situations in which a person might need to stay in a hotel. Vacation is only one of them. When we get that highly anticipated holiday from work, one we deserve for working hard at a workplace, we want everything to go flawlessly.
Another situation is when we travel for business. Training, meeting a client or presenting a company to new employees - this the most common situation which takes us on an assignment far from home.
Finally, we might sometimes want to visit a friend or family member. They don't always have space in their own home and staying at a hotel might give us a little bit more flexibility. If you find yourself in any of the above and you want to book your hotel without any hassle, visiting Hotels.com seems the best idea to do that.
Part of a bigger entity
Hotels.com belongs to Expedia Group - the largest travel company in the world which holds booking and flight brands all over the world. This guarantees that the customer sees the largest portfolio of accommodation to rent, including hotels, villas, flats, and hostel rooms. The most important factor of the success of the group is the versatility of their offer. Whether you are a business person looking to stay in a 5-star hotel room or you're a family of 5 wanting to spend the nice and cozy holiday away from your hometown, Expedia Group has got it all. Hotels.com, which is an integral part of the group, can offer you further discounts, rebates, and additional benefits.
For whom is hotels.com?
One might wonder who could actually benefit from using hotels.com if there are so many options on the traditional travel agency market. The answer is - everyone. The biggest difference between one and the other is the range and the flexibility of stay - combined. You might be a solo traveler who doesn't like to decide at the very beginning where they want to go and how long they want to stay. All you need is the internet to plan your trip and you're already happy.
Or perhaps you're a couple who works most of the time but when the time comes that both of you have some free time, you want to decide on the spot and embark on a quick getaway together. Why waste time on a travel agency if you can book your holiday now and leave for your destination tomorrow?
If you're a business person who needs to save as much as possible, however, you have specific needs with regards to your stay, hotels.com is also perfect. And if it happens you need to return before you were scheduled to or you need to extend your stay - the website will help you with that as well.
Offers to hotels.com
How do you find out about the best prices? Of course, you might not have anything against paying the full price but why do that if there are saving opportunities at hand? Learning about promotions is easy and doesn't require any special skills from the user. One way is subscribing to Picodi to receive those offers to the mailbox. This way, you as a user, will not have to browse for them every single day. This solution is good for those who don't like to plan far ahead and are open to adventures - a deal comes, you book the hotel and the plane ticket, and off you go!
Another way to learn about promotions is to browse for them on Picodi website. It will be very effective if you need to plan your journey, you have a set budget, and you wish to learn if you could save anything. Whichever way you choose, you should know that there is a variety of offers available. Codes, vouchers, free nights or gifts and complimentary benefits are all up for grabs, but every traveller needs to remember that not all of them are ongoing.
How it's done
Using hotels.com website is very easy and brings you that flexibility you need when planning a holiday or a business trip. If you're only looking around and you don't have your mind set on a particular location, you can look for recommended regions and destinations and take it from there. Once you click on one, you will see the list of available rooms within the specified dates. You can also opt for not placing a particular date, especially if you don't have your holiday planned just yet.
Another way to go is to use a search tool. It only requires placing your destination, check in and out dates and the type of room you're looking for. Take it from there, and you will be given additional options once the list of hotel rooms appears. You can add more filters such as the star rating and the price range you're interested in. You might also want to look for hotels which offer free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, free parking, are pet-friendly and have a pool.
If you're interested in what other travellers have to say about a particular hotel, you can also select the guest rating. And if you collect nights with hotels.com unique loyalty programme, simply check the correct filter. The location might also be important for you - some people want to stay as close to the airport as possible while others plan to sightsee as much as possible. It's all very individual, and with hotels.com booking process, you are bound to find exactly what you need.
Practical information about your booking
If a lot of time passes between the day of placing a reservation and the actual stay, some things might change. There is a situation in which the traveller might have to cancel their booking. With hotels.com this can be arranged. Even though you book through this website, each hotel sends you cancellation and refund policy in their confirmation email. Additionally, some changes can be done for free through hotels.com. For example, if any of the following changes: guest name (because the person you wanted to travel with can't do it anymore), bed type, smoking preference, special requests or accessibility options, simply fill out the form on the website. Depending on your reservation and the hotel you're staying at, you might be eligible for a refund. It usually takes up to 7 days for the money to come back to your account.
Using Hotels.com website
Hotels.com provides an easy and fast service, the website is clear and perfectly adjusted to customers’ needs and comfort. However, if you prefer not to book your room online you can always do it via telephone. The number is displayed in the upper right corner on the main page. If you want to stick to the online booking, here’s how do it.
First go to Hotels.com. There in the big box for “Hotel search” put in the destination you are travelling to in order to see the list of available hotels in that place or if you have already set your eyes on a specific hotel write its name or the address. Below choose the date when you want to check in and check out. Pick the purpose of your travel, whether it is work or leisure. Lastly, pick how many rooms you would like to book and for how many people.
After you put in all the required information and click “search” you will see a list of hotels with their addresses, how far they are from the city centre, how much stars they have, what are the reviews of other customers who stayed there and the price for a room.
Once you decide in which hotel you would like to stay, click the blue “Choose room” button. It will redirect you to the subpage with more information about that hotel. There you can look at the pictures, see how other users evaluated the location, service, comfort and amenities and check other details such as if there is free Wi-Fi and what amenities are provided in the rooms.
If you are not satisfied with that place, go back and check other hotels. But if it suits your needs click “Book Now” on the right or scroll down to see the rooms that are available. Once you have chosen the room click the blue “Book” button next to the price of the room.
After that we are left with the last step. Put in your name and e-mail address in the appropriate spaces and fill in the payment details. If you have any special requests such as late check in, high-floor room or adjoining rooms just click on the question under the spaces for your first and last name (look on the picture below) and choose which one do you need.
