Hostel Booking Terms and Conditions - Complaints and Returns Policy

Amendment, non-arrival, cancellation and refund charges:

• Amendment:
  
  • A $5 NZD amendment fee applies per transaction to amend any booking.
  • Amendments to the date of arrival cannot be made on the day due to arrive, treated as same day cancellation, with no refund.
  • A booking for one hostel cannot be transferred to another hostel.
  • Member rates cannot be applied for past stays.


• Non-arrival:
  
  • No refund for the first night if no cancellation advised.
  • No refund for subsequent nights not cancelled before 2pm the day before.


• Cancellations:
  
  • A $5 NZD cancellation fee applies per transaction to cancel any booking.
  • Non-refundable for the first night if booking is made on the arrival day and cancelled.
  • Refund (less $5 NZD cancellation fee) if cancelled before 2pm the day before arrival.
  • No refund for the first night if after 2pm the day before arrival, with full refund for subsequent nights (less $5 NZD fee) with notice before 2pm the day before the subsequent nights.
  • $5 NZD cancellation fee charged for unpaid bookings upon cancellation.
  • The non-arrival clause applies if no cancellation notice is provided.


• Refunds:
  
  • Refunds credited back to the original card debited less a $5 NZD cancellation fee.
  • Card processing fee at time of booking is non-refundable.
  • New card expiry date needed for refund processing if applicable.
  • Bank transfer required if refund cannot be credited back to the original card, incurring a bank fee.
  • No refund applied if new card or bank details are not provided within 3 months of the refund request.
  • YHA is not liable for exchange rate differences or fees incurred during the refund process.
